New Investigator!

                                         7/2/12
خوش خاندان اور دوستوں (Urdu)
What a long week. It was nice to hear from all of you guys. I was glad that I got Dad's e-mail, and it's good now that you're all out of school. Now maybe you'll actually get some family time. lol That's sad that you won't be able to do fireworks. It’s also sad to hear about all the fires that have been burning. Lots of people are talking about it here, as well as the fires in Colorado Springs. Man its crazy being away from the news and the outside world. lol Now let’s hit up the “Missionary Weekly”!!!!!
Welcome to Missionary weekly where we join the workers in the vineyard. Today we see how all the investigators are doing in the Roseville 3rd ward.

06/26/12 - We had our weekly visit with Joy today. We invited Sister Wunderli and Brother Garcia along for the lesson. She seemed a lot happier this day. I think that she is just lonely and wants to talk to people. I was a little nervous bringing two people around, but we felt that she needed to meet with sisters of the ward. We can't get in without a priesthood holder so I guess we'll have to work with it. Like I said she really loves it when we come by.

06/27/12 - I can't remember what I did this day. I guess I'll just make it up? We committed 82 people to baptism for this Saturday, ok I guess not. We did have to fix Elder Leone's bike because his rim busted. We went to the bike shop close to us and apparently they were out of his type of rims. We called the Zone Leader's to get a ride to another place and once we got there we found out that they too were out of those rims. So we were stuck for a bit. Then we decide to try this one place to see if we could find one. When we went there they had one and they fixed it. We then ate at Coasta vida (we ate Coasta Vida for lunch 4xs this week and surprisingly enough members paid for us 2 of those times). By this time, most of our day was spent and thank goodness that we didn't have any appointments set.

06/28/12 - This day we had a weekly DL/ZL meeting, well my companion did. I just hung out and played some piano.
06/29/12 - We had a lesson with a referral today. It was a member referral and he is so legit. His name is Logan and he lives with his relatives in our Ward. He's from New Mexico and he is interested in his family’s beliefs. So, yes we got a new investigator. Oh and later that night we were in the process of doing exchanges with the Zone Leaders when a guy walking his dog said he could you get this pug. Apparently there
was a stray Pug by our apartment. We took the dog and tried to find his owner, but we could not find his family. We had no choice but to take the dog into our apartment, and wait. It wasn't until about 9:40 that night the owners came by looking for it. So yeah, I had a pet dog for about 45 minutes. lol

06/30/12 - Exchanges and more Coasta Vida, BOO YA!!!

07/01/12 - Happy July day!!!! This Sunday was an odd Sunday, well in a way. You know that we, in Church, usually sing patriotic songs for Opening and Closing Hymns. People usually bare testimony on Freedom and Patriotic things? Yeah, there was only one patriotic song and one Testimony on freedom. I mean don't get me wrong, that's good and all, but I guess I shouldn't expect the expected. lol

That's it for missionary weekly join us next time when we see how a missionary spends the 4th of July.

Ok, time for a quick Q&A Corner. Welcome ___--- No time....

Q1. Start with my favorite questions.  What was the best thing that happened this week?  What was the worst thing that happened this week?  What made you laugh out loud?  What made you feel really good about the work? Who inspired or impressed you this week?

A1. The Best thing was having another person to teach. The worst thing was getting a softball in the side at P-day today. Actually, that might be more like a “Laugh-out-loud” moment. Lol It was so funny. King Benjamin’s address in I think Chapter 4 about the Poor who don't have a lot have enough for him to go day to day was something that made me feel good about the work.  King Benjamin impressed me.

Q2.  How are your investigators and less-actives?  How is Joy doing? What did you learn while teaching a lesson this week?  Are you writing all about all these people and experiences in your journal?  What seems small now may be huge later in your life.

A2. They're all doing well. We have lots of appointments set up this week. What did I learn? Listening really helps. Yes, Mom I am writing in my journal.

Q3.  What has the weather been like in Roseville?  Are you doing Ok on the bike and in the heat?  Are you and Elder Leone staying hydrated and cool during the day?  Take good care of each other and listen to what your body says, stop when you need to take a break and drink cold water.

A3. Warm and HOT!!!! Yeah, I'm doing well.

Q4.  Have you met any special ward members that you appreciate?  Have you had any especially great dinners at member homes?  Who do you look forward to seeing at Church on Sunday?  How do you participate in Church on Sunday?

A4. Yes, Brother Edwards, we had dinner with him and his family and after we shared our message, he asked right there if he could come out with us to go on a visit and we did. At Church we just substitute in Gospel Principle's Class when needed.

Q5.  Send some pictures of your apartment and companion.  I would enjoy seeing what both look like.  Is there anything you are wondering about or want to hear about?  Have you heard from anyone this week that surprised you?  Maybe Dad will get a letter written now that he is off work for summer.  You just never know. lol

A5. I just sent pictures this morning. Hope you like them and the letter that comes with them. Let’s see not really I got the one from Aunt Karen that was awesome!!!

Q6.  Do you and Elder Leone have plans for the 4th of July?  Do missionaries have restrictions on that day? Do you need to be in early that night?  Does your Zone or District get together for holidays?  Take care and be safe.  You know some people take the holiday to drink it up and do stupid things.  Stay where you know you will be safe that day.  Happy Independence Day!!

A6. We are planning to have dinner with President Weston and his family and the rest of our district, but other than that just a full proselyting day. The only restriction or tip is to just be careful at night.
