Stormy Weather

Dear Family and Friends,
All is well here. Things are getting better. There are lots of storms and lots of biking. Lol, Just FYI Elder Arnett does not have a Brother. He has two sisters.  One is in China teaches kids English and the other is going to High School.
This was one crazy week. We started, with a rain storm and that lasted about two days. Then on Wednesday we borrowed the Hmung missionaries car for a day to go out to Durham, because our boundaries go all the way out to Durham.  It is too far to get there on bikes, but its beautiful.  I have to get some pictures and send them home to you. While we were driving, I felt like I was in Idaho...... except for the Almond and Walnut Orchards. lol  We visited a few less actives and the only reason they are not able to go to church is because they are old. Any who that is not the exciting part. On our way back we saw a storm coming towards Chico. We were thinking that, "Oh another storm... at least we're in a car".  We saw lighting and the whole wild thing. I was a little nervous, but not that much. We had Tarzan playing in the car so I focused in on the music more.  Once we got into Chico a BIG Hailstone hit our car and then more and more. At first I thought someone was shooting at us, and I was happy that we were in a car. On our way back we saw people on the sidewalk getting pelted like crazy, (picture provided by Elder Scotts).  Yeah, that is what its like in Chico Ca.  Today it’s raining heavy too.
Yes! Darla is actually getting baptized this Saturday. There were a few more lessons to teach her and today we are talking about Baptism and Confirmation.  We found two more investigators thru Floyd, his Cousin Pedro and Pedro's wife Stephanie. They sat in on one of Floyds’ lessons and asked a lot of good questions.  For our official first lesson we watched “The Restoration”, and after the movie Stephanie said this is what she is looking for.  They came to church this last Sunday with Floyd and at first they were a little uncomfortable during Sacrament meeting, but enjoyed the classes.  We had dinner with them that night. They made us burritos mmmmmmm they were good.  I notice now that I'm eating the food better out here but cooked onions still make me want to vomit, ugh. Anyway they enjoyed church and in one of our classes we spoke on Eternal Marriage. Pedro and Stephanie want to be sealed. It is so great! I'm sooooooooooo happy for them.
To answer your question about the kid that got hit by a car, no I couldn't go with Elder Arnett to give him a blessing.   We were on exchanges that day and Elder Arnett went with the District Leader and gave him a blessing.  He's doing better now he's out of a coma and starting to move a little, like his mouth and stuff like that.  Recently one of our investigators went into the hospital. He always had terminal lung cancer and he's 80yrs old. We think either today or soon is the day he will pass away...... its sad, Yesterday we were teaching Darla and the man’s with cancer’s son peels in and he says "we need you" and before I know it we were to the hospital. It was nuts.  We took two other missionaries and went to see him and gave him a blessing.  He did not look good, I started to have flash backs of Arthur and feel sad.
But on a brighter note, we committed Pedro and Stephanie to baptism on Nov. 12 so two more. :) I hope all is well at home. I hope you like the pictures and share them with everyone.  This will be my final CD request lol....... Hopefully. I’m not promising, though. lol,
“Lord of the Rings”, “Fellowship of the Ring”, and the” Return of the King”.
Just send anything that is spiritual including, Alex Boyes, “Relief Society Song.” Talk to Martin about that song. Anything else you’d like to send.  Just not as much candy this time. lol  We are trying to eat healthy, lol.
So with out further adieu, Safety and Peace, God bless, and if you sneeze during this E-mail bless your face. Requisite in Pace, and keep your stick on the Ice, this is Elder Morris signing out.

Love,
Elder Nathan Morris
