"Teach When You Find"

Hello family and Friends!!!!!                                       3/4/13
Man what a week for teaching. We've done a lot of teaching this week through finding!!!  Unfortunately, a lot of set appointments this week have fallen through.  It was still a good week!!!! Lets hit the “Missionary Weekly” Forecast...well I guess Post-cast!!! lol

“Missionary Weekly!!!

Welcome to “Missionary Weekly”!!!  Today, we will see how we apply “teach when you find” and “find when you teach”.  Also another successful District Meeting? Check out what we talked about at that meeting!!  Finally “Drama City” at the Davis family home, read to see what happened!!

February 26, 2013 - Leaves, leaves and more leaves... I am getting sick and tired of so many leaves. Ok, so I told you about Noble, right? He is the guy with endless and endless piles of leaves? Yeah, we finally got it all taken care of.  I don't want to see another pile of leaves again in my life!!!  It was all-good.  He said he would get our car detailed and take us out to La Carnitas (forgive the spelling) so it was not all in vain. We also got a lesson out of it.

February 27, 2013 - Two really awesome lessons this Day!!!! One with Eric, we talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He is so cool and asked really good questions.  He also applied the things we taught him. There are still a lot of issues to work on with him before he gets baptized, but over all he is doing well. The other great lesson we had was with a part-member family. The parents are less-active members and they have a 12 yr old daughter that is not baptized. She likes the Young Woman Program and so we are going to bring the Young Women President to meet her and bring her to Young Women’s’ next time we meet. And finally we had a lesson with Victoria and of course she is doing Awesome with a capitol AWESOME!!!! We talked about the last part of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, baptism, Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.

February 28, 2013 - District Meeting!!! Today we talked about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and how it applies to our investigators.

March 1, 2013 - Now we hit the most interesting day of the week. We had a lesson with one of our new investigators, but the member we were going to have the lesson with was not home.  We didn't know what to do.  Because the investigator works with this member at her home, we decided to wait and see what happens.  We sat in these really nice chairs and relaxed a bit, and then a thought came to me.  If this is what life is like when you’re old, sitting on the porch on a nice day, I really like it!!!  Now, for the crazy part, we went to McDonalds for lunch and we saw the Davis family's older girl.  She asked us when we were coming over.  We told her after lunch. That turned out to be a big mistake. lol.... The older Daughter Amiee, who is 17, Bi-polar and ADHD is now pregnant.  When we arrived she was yelling at her Boyfriend, her boyfriend was yelling at her, and the Mom is yelling at both of them.  Oh boy, talk about bad timing. lol

March 2, 2013 - The best day ever for tracting, 6 lessons given while we were tracting. WHO HOO!!!! What a good day!!!

March 3, 2013 - Not much happened this day.  Sunday was just dinner and so on...

Q & A CORNER!!!!

Q1.   How is your District Leader job going?  Are you keeping up with it all?  How is Elder Himmer doing?  I hope you two are taking good care of each other.

A1.   It's going... although it is pretty tough because you have to help everyone with his or her individual needs. Yeah, I am keeping up, but its tough. Elder Himmer is doing great. Oh yeah, we are doing well and taking care of each other.

Q2.   How are your investigators?  What's happening with each of them?  Are you seeing progress and finding the ones who truly want the gospel and the blessings it brings?  How many lessons this week?  How many of the investigators came to Church?

A2. They are all doing well. *Please view “Missionary Weekly” above. We are seeing a little bit of progress with investigators, but not a whole lot.  The progress will come soon. Yeah, a little bit of progress each time we visit. We taught 21 lessons this week. Two investigators came to Church.

Q3.   How was your Sabbath Day?  What special message did you hear and need from Church?  Did you have an opportunity to share your testimony this past week?  How do you think your testimony has changed since your mission began?

A3. Church was great, a lot of great testimonies. A lot of food today...lol Testimonies about food at least. I did bare my testimony in the past month. Oh yeah, my testimony has changed a lot.  More than I can share here.

Q4.   Do you need anything?  Are you still doing the work out routine and eating healthy?  James has lost so much weight he looks different now.  I have been trying, but it is slow going.  Is exercise part of your daily routine and something you are supposed to incorporate because of the mission rules?  What do you two do for exercise?

A4. Let’s see... I need the address for Elder Beck, and all the other Missionaries on my facebook page, if you could get those? We don’t exercise or eat healthy as often as before. Yeah, exercise is part of our daily routine but it’s tough though. Yeah, at 6:30 to 7 in the morning it’s exercise time. We go to the gym and we do whatever Nate suggests.

Q5.   Is it warming up there?  We finally had a couple of days in the 40s and 50s.  We even got the candy canes out of the flowerbed and put away!  What are you planning to do for p-day today?  What is your favorite part of p-day?  What is your favorite part of all the other days of the week?

A5. Oh yeah, 60's and 70's here in California. For P-day we are doing another awesome hike on the Flumes. The activities and the email time are my favorite part of p-day. The rest of the week it’s just feeling the spirit through out the week and so on!!!

Well that's it. I got to go, but I love ya!!!
